Creative Week Cape Town

Join Creative Cape Town, Cape Town Design Network and VISI for “Meet the Makers,” a special sneak peek into the inner workings of some of Cape Town’s most dynamic design studios. A select group of innovative Cape Town designers will host exclusive tours of their studios.

During “Meet the Makers”, attendees will have the opportunity to see work in progress and intimately view the environment in which Cape Town designers produce original, thought-provoking creations. This is the perfect opportunity for those interested in design to learn about the different designers, their methodologies and studio culture.

Furniture designer Simon Croft will kick off “Meet the Makers” with an informative tour of his Cape Quarter studio, Fusion. Blending modern materials of glass and metal with timeless craftsmanship, Simon’s bespoke creations range from furniture pieces to staircases. Using pioneering UV bonding techniques and finishing products with hand painted artwork, digital printing or sandblasting, the Fusion design studio showcases the seemingly limitless possibilities in glass furniture and installation design. Simon will draw on his experience as a lecturer of design to provide an interesting and exciting insight into what goes into a Fusion original product.
