Creative Week Cape Town

Twelve township based photographers and photo-students from the Iliso Labantu Photo Group spent two days last week documenting life in one small area of Langa. The series of photographs they have produced tell unique, provocative and stunning stories of life in Langa.

A selection of their work will be exhibited this Saturday (the 17th) on the same streets in which it was shot. This is primarily an event to thank the local community for hosting this project but you would be very welcome to come and see what they have produced in such a short space of time.

This was the eleventh event in a series known as Flash Photo Weekends, which aim to create a secure and supportive space for young documentary photographers to practice their skills, be mentored by other photo professionals and to create a new body of work for themselves and the wider group.
