Park(ing) Day is an annual event made possible by citizens around the world. Parking spaces are turned into parks for people to enjoy. The idea was born in San Francisco in 2005 and has grown into what it is today. The event aims to bring attention to the amount of space that is taken up in cities to accommodate stationary cars and to encourage better use of space.
