To celebrate the creativity of Cape Town’s citizens, we are running an Instagram competition during Creative Week from 13 to 21 September 2014, with prizes including an iPad Mini, a stay at Daddy Long Legs art hotel, Jetline canvas prints and subscriptions to VISI magazine. “Start where you are, use what you have and make what you can to celebrate everyday creativity,” is the theme for Creative Week 2014, implying that all Capetonians can be creative, whether industry professionals or not, with or without expensive resources. In order to encourage this inclusive vision of a creative city, the #MyCreativeWeek Instagram competition is asking: What does creativity look like in Cape Town? What aspect of creativity in your everyday life in Cape Town would you like to share with the world? Get imaginative and submit photographs that best represent creativity in Cape Town by tagging them with “#MyCreativeWeek @CreativeCT” in the main caption and indicating where in Cape Town the photograph was taken. Make sure to follow @CreativeCT and post the photo between 13 and 21 September to be eligible to win one of these three prizes: First prize: An iPad mini, a 50cm x 50xm Jetline canvas print of your winning photo and a year’s subscription to VISI magazine. Second prize: A one-night stay for two at the Daddy Longlegs in Long Street including a meal voucher for two at Sababa Restaurant, a 35cm x 35xm Jetline canvas print of your winning photo and a year’s subscription to VISI magazine. Third prize: A 35cm x 35xm Jetline canvas print of your winning photo and a year’s subscription to VISI magazine. Please only add the #MyCreativeWeek hashtag to photos and videos for entry into competition (for general Creative Week images, use the #CreativeWeek hashtag). Creative Cape Town will feature a selection of our favourite #MyCreativeWeek on Instagram during the competition. Running from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 September, Creative Week is an annual celebration of creativity, innovation and culture in Cape Town. Crowdsourced by Capetonians and coordinated by Creative Cape Town, it is an opportunity to experience the city’s energy and diversity while The Loerie Awards are in town. Terms and conditions 1. You are invited by Creative Cape Town, a programme of the Cape Town Partnership to participate in Creative Week by submitting photographs that best represent Creativity in Cape Town. 2. Photographs can be submitted by tagging them with the hashtag #MyCreativeWeek and indicating where in Cape Town the photograph was taken. 3. The contest begins 13 September and ends at close of business 21 September. 4. Entrants must be following @creativect on Instagram. 5. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted images displayed on the Cape Town Partnership, Creative Cape Town and Creative Week websites, social media channels and printed material without any fee or other form of compensation. Photos will be credited to photographers named in their Instagram accounts. 6. Photos selected at the discretion of Creative Cape Town will be eligible to win a prize. All photos must adhere to the above-mentioned guidelines. 7. The winner will be notified through their Instagram account once judging has been completed. 8. The winning photo selection is final. 9. By participating in the contest participants agree to release Cape Town Partnership and its staff from any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions or losses of any kind resulting from participation in the contest, including infringement of intellectual property rights. 10. Cape Town Partnership reserves the right to cancel or suspend all or any portion of this contest without notice.
