PlayDough Partnership

PlayDough Partnership

“Playdough Partnership” An interactive intervention created as part of the 2014 Michaelis School of Fine Art 2nd year City Project which is displayed upon a fenced-off playground squeezed in amongst Charly’s Bakery parking lot and the surrounding urban buildings. By walking around the area gathering information from various inhabitants of Harrington Street an unlikely partnership was discovered which allowed this place to be. With the parking lot being owned by the City of Cape Town and the playground leased by Woodheads and the day-care centre, Stepping Stones, this brought about the interesting notion of a public space (the parking lot) becoming a private space (the fenced-off playground) as only children from Stepping Stones were allowed access. This intervention brings awareness to this partnership as well as this space which people tend to overlook. Come and interact with the abstracted play dough pieces and feel like a kid again. #michaeliscityproject2014
